Vessel Registration is one among many important activities carried out by MMB. Regional Port officers are the Registrars & they undertake the Registration of vessels under various acts, such as Merchant Shipping Act 1958, Maharashtra Marine Fishing Regulation Act 1981, Inland Vessel Act 1917.
The applicant makes an application on a prescribed form and deposits fee for Registration. The Port Officer makes various enquiries, verifies the state of vessel to be registered and on his full satisfaction, issues Certificate of Registration for the vessel. |
